Uyi Nosa-Odia (UNO), fondly called, "The ONE", is a Nigerian artist living in Luxembourg and has more than 10 years experience in painting and sculpture. Uyi trained at an early age as a sculptor with the UNESCO Heritage protected Igun Bronze Casters' Guild of Benin. In 2014, he was shot twice in the head in a politically motivated assassination attempt and left for dead. He mysteriously survived this and fled his country to Europe. UNO arrived in Luxembourg in 2017 and quickly established himself as a versatile artist, creating amazing artworks and participating in numerous exhibitions. He is a graduate of Painting & General Art (2006) and has a bachelors in Banking & Finance, 2014.
His artworks are mostly abstract expressionism, richly didactic and socially progressive. He paints, sculpts, carves and comfortably expresses his artistic side through different techniques. He currently teaches drawing in the Red Cross project, Hariko and operates his art studio. Additionally, he works as an ICT & project manager for the organisation, Touchpoints, and he is a council member for the organisation, Lëtz Art ASBL.
